Senior Transitions to Assisted Living

— Senior Living Transitions Program —

Providing Assistance &
Guidance for Seniors
and Their Families in the
Transition to Assisted Living

Why did we create this program?

Over the years we have seen the demographics and the needs of our clients change. Specifically, we have worked with many Seniors who have made the transitions to assisted living, memory care or other types of elder care facilities. Through these experiences, we have been privileged to spend time with seniors and the adult children of seniors helping them through some of the emotional, physical and financial challenges that these types of transitions can have.

Reasons why seniors move from their residences:

    • To Physically Downsize into Smaller Living Arrangements
    • To Financially Downsize
    • They have Medical Constraints or Need to Move Into Assisted Living, Memory Care or Elder Care facility

When Seniors Can No Longer Live Alone

  1. They can elect to pay for in home care
  2. Seniors may move in with their adult children
  3. Seniors will have to move into an elder care facility or assisted-living facility

We Understand

When a Senior needs to leave their primary residence they may face some emotional challenges:

  • Fear of change
  • Fear of downsizing and selling their personal items
  • Worried about being a burden to their children
  • Concerned about what will happen to their home
  • Concern about what will happen to their pets
  • If moving to a facility, fear of being alone or not knowing anyone
  • Fear of the financial costs
  • Sensing a loss of their identity and independence

For the Adult Children there are emotional challenges as well:

  • They may experience extreme guilt
  • They may receive resistance from parents
  • The situation may create new/ added responsibilities
  • Concerns about what to do with parent’s home, belongings and/ or pets
  • Concern regarding the cost of the transition & continued care

Where We Come In

Often when seniors go through these late in life moves they have a home they need to sell, adding to the stress of this transition.
Some times the house needs to be sold to assist in financing their next stage of life.

Our Senior Living Transition Program can turn chaos into an ordered process.

Here’s How It Works:

  1. Our process is conducted with delicate care, understanding the emotional challenges that this may bring. We understand this is a process that takes time and sensitivity
  2. We will meet with the owners or the children to talk about time frames and goals for the move
  3. Downsizing is HARD! We have a team of professionals that can help you to organize, sort and minimize
  4. Based on the financial parameters of the client we will evaluate the home to see if repairs or updates would increase its value or discuss the sale based on its current condition
  5. We will provide access to quality contractors that facilitate in in every aspect of the transition
  6. Our team of contractors/providers give senior discounts and also are willing to be paid when the home sells, so thereare no up-front costs to the owners or the children
  7. Throughout the process we will facilitate communication with all partiesso everyone is on board with the sale
